Confused with locust, this grasshopper is a difficult little bugger to get under control when they reach adult hood.

We caught a couple a few weeks ago feasting on plants near one of our clients, and here is one that was willing to pose for the camera.
The Adult lubber grasshopper is large and yellow with vivid markings. Nymphs tend to be smaller in size, with black and yellow, orange, or red markings. Neither adults or nymphs can fly, but they move along slowly.
Lubbers are common chewing pests, normally feasting on landscaping and citrus plants. They tend to prefer lilies. In the grand food chain, lubbers make up a important source of food for birds and other wildlife, not to mention they make great fishing bait.
Controlling young nymphs with insecticides is possible, but larger nymphs and adults are extremely difficult.
